Still our favorite Pinot! After trying dozens of Pinot Noirs this year, this gem from Santa Maria Valley is still the best! Richly perfumed - like a sachet of pomegranate, rose petals, and goji berries, with a bit of dried herbs. Soft and silky, like fruit compote spread over ocean-sprayed earth. Husband and wife team, Mikey and Gina, make this wine from two organic vineyards in Santa Maria and soften it with some older French oak. This couple makes some crazy good wine and we're into it!

Delicious With

This is a turkey dinner, prime rib, and slow-cooked brisket type of wine. It demands a feast and will work with all the mains and sides. Also fabulous with classic Santa Maria style BBQ – dry rubbed with spices and grilled over an open flame. Grilled salmon with charred skin, or a cheese plate with fresh Mozzarella.

Their Cred

Scar of the Sea was started in 2012 by Mikey & Gina Giugni in San Luis Obispo, California. They work with farmers who are instrumental in farming for the future and making wines with as little intervention as possible. Their wines are made with the intention to tell a story of where they come from, the people who farm them, and reflect each vintage under the California sun. Each vineyard site is carefully selected, so they can make wines that mean something to them, and us!
