We’re proud to be the first-ever* wine retailer certified organic by the USDA. This certification isn’t just a label - it’s a reflection of what we stand for: transparency, integrity, and a deep commitment to the planet.
For us, it started with a love of natural wine. Wines made by small growers and independent producers who farm with care, skip the shortcuts, and let nature do the talking. We launched five years ago with the goal of bringing these wines - often overlooked or under-distributed - to those who care about what’s in their glass and how it got there.
As natural wine grew, so did our commitment. In 2024, we began the process to become an officially certified organic retailer - holding ourselves to the same high standards we expect from the winemakers we work with.
What It Means to Be a Certified Organic Wine Retailer
Being a USDA Certified Organic retailer means that we:
- Meet strict organic handling and sourcing standards From the moment wine arrives to the moment it ships out, we follow rigorous protocols to keep certified organic wines clearly labeled, properly stored, and protected from cross-contamination.
- Support organic and sustainable producers We champion winemakers who farm organically or biodynamically, avoid harmful additives, and minimize interventions in the cellar.
- Stay transparent with our customers We clearly identify which wines are certified organic, and we offer context for others made with organic grapes, or grown using low-intervention practices.
- Care deeply about the planet Organic practices aren’t just better for your glass—they’re better for the soil, the water, the air, and future generations.
Organic vs. Natural: What’s the Difference?
Not all natural wines are certified organic - and not all organic wines are what we’d call “natural.” We carry wines across the spectrum, but always with intention and always with a focus on sustainability, transparency, and quality.
- Certified Organic Wine follows USDA standards for organic farming and production - no synthetic pesticides, no GMOs, and strict oversight throughout the process.
- Natural Wine is a broader term that includes wines made with organic or biodynamic grapes, use native yeast fermentation, and add little to no added sulfur.
We vet and curate all of our wines to ensure we are supporting winemakers who share our commitment to the planet.
Why It Matters
Wine shouldn't be complicated - it should be delicious - and it should also align with your values. By becoming a certified organic retailer, we’re doing our part to move the wine world toward a more sustainable, transparent, and earth-friendly future.
Thanks for being on this journey with us.
Wild about wine. Serious about the earth.
*As far as we know, we're the first certified organic wine retailer in the U.S. We searched for others to help guide us through the process, but came up empty. If you’ve gone through it too, major kudos, it’s no small feat. And please reach out! We’d love to connect and work together to help move this industry forward.
