Winemaker Francesco Mulinari’s dad bought a block of land (steep land, that is) with a neglected vineyard and olive grove on it simply so his family could have picnics back in the 1980s. In 2001, when Francesco was 18 years old, he followed his curiosity and tried his hand at winemaking. Since then he has replanted vines and made a name for himself as an excellent winemaker. Mulinari has drawn much praise for his wines, which are sold at incredible prices compared to many other Brunellos, so it's fair to say that they never stick around for long, particularly because his production is so small (less than 2,000 bottles).
