Slightly cloudy and canary gold in the glass this wine is dripping with honeydew, grilled pineapple, and lemon-lime soda. Then there is this juicy swell of lemon, watermelon rind, and green apple that mimics the label.

The grapes for this wine come from 50+ year old vines from a vineyard in Redwood Valley, Mendocino, tenderly farmed by the Upton family, who have maintained a CCOF organic certification for their vineyard since 1990. Once harvested, the grapes are left to rest on their skins overnight to add extra flavors and aromatics. No added sulfites – this wine is purely organic California Sauvignon Blanc at its best.

The bright, citrus notes of the wine cut through the richer flavors of stinky cheese, pasta with white sauce, fried food. A great wine for pizza night or any roasted white meat.

Florèz wines was founded by James Jelks in 2017. Born in Santa Cruz and raised in Davis California, Jelks is a west coast kid. After a decade of wine fascination, attending the UC Davis Enology and Viticulture program, and working worldwide, Jelks set his sights on producing wines in Santa Cruz county. He embraces old world technique and sensibility. Everything begins with the vineyards and the best quality ingredients.
