Bugey-Cerdon is anything but a serious wine – a lightly sweet, floral, and sparkling rosé wine from the Jura mountains of Eastern France. Its seductive deep pink glimmers in the glass, jumping out of the glass with alpine strawberries and roses. It’s just sweet enough, with a crystalline finish that gets you up on your feet. Great wine does not need to be thought-provoking or meditative—and this is proof that a top producer from hallowed vineyards can exist as simply festive and carefree. Enjoy with a chill.

This is a fun wine to pair with all sorts of delightful foods! Some of our favorite pairings include: Mozzarella grilled cheese, potato chips, or a Danish smoked salmon open sandwich. Creamy mushroom pasta or risotto. Roast turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Or chocolate donut holes - enjoy!

Their Cred

As a geographical crossroads between the Savoie, the Jura, Burgundy, and the Rhône, Bugey is one of the few regions where one can see both palm trees and snow within eyeshot. In La Cueille, Patrick and Catherine Bottex farm the limestone slopes above the Ain River. They have been working five hectares of land since 1991 and produce only a small quantity of their beautiful, intriguing sparkling wine. The resulting wine is delightfully refreshing with bright fruit, a beautiful rosé hue, and a touch of sweetness.
