This Sauv Blanc is a sun-chasing, sand-dune-dwelling showstopper! Sourced from the windswept, ancient sandy soils of Santa Maria Valley’s coolest corner, these grapes get to linger on the vine, soaking up the coastal chill and late-season sunshine for extra depth and intrigue. Greeted by a zesty burst of citrus – think lime zest and grapefruit peel – quickly followed by a tropical wink of passionfruit and gooseberry. This wine is playful and at the same time SERIOUSLY good, all both crisp and gently rounded thanks to fermentation in old French oak barrels.

Their Cred

Outward Wines is the brainchild of Ryan Pace and Natalie Siddique, a partnership that began on a rock face, aka rock climbing. They quickly discovered a shared passion for adventure and wine. Natalie is a rock-climbing celebrity and former business owner, while Ryan comes from a winemaking family and studied at Cal Poly before cutting his teeth at Byron winery. Outward started with just two barrels of Syrah from Ryan’s father’s backyard vineyard, but now it’s their full-time pursuit, producing about 2,500 cases a year from single-vineyard, organically farmed sites along California’s Central Coast. They farm some of their own vines and source others, always with a focus on low-intervention, wild-yeast fermentations and no fining or filtration. With a sense of curiosity, they are committed to organic farming, and a love for the unconventional-making wines that are as expressive and adventurous as their own journeys.
