This Pipeno Blanco is fresh, lively, and just a little bit wild. This isn’t your everyday white (or orange); it’s a nod to Chile’s rustic wine traditions, crafted from old-vine grapes grown on the sun-soaked slopes of Maule, Chile. It shimmers pale gold, bursting with crisp pear, green apple, and a cheeky squeeze of lime, all wrapped up with a hint of wild herbs and a whisper of salty sea air. It’s pure refreshment – zippy, juicy, and oh-so-drinkable, with a playful texture that keeps things interesting from first pour to last drop. It’s unfussy, unfiltered, and unapologetically delicious.

Luyt’s Pipeno Blanco is crafted in a rustic, traditional style, often allowing the white grape juice to spend some time fermenting with the grape skins. This brief maceration adds texture, a gentle golden hue, and a bit more aromatic complexity to the wine, while still keeping it super fresh and easy-drinking. The result is a lively, slightly textural white that bridges the gap between classic white and “orange” wine styles, perfect for adventurous palates and versatile food pairings.

Delicious With

Pair with tangy ceviche or fresh oysters, grilled shrimp tacos, anything with goat cheese or a salty feta. For heartier fare, roast chicken with lemon and herbs or crispy fried calamari. And for a casual snack, nothing beats a handful of marcona almonds or a bowl of briny olives.

Their Cred

Louis-Antoine Luyt is a Frenchman-turned-Chilean wine pioneer, celebrated for shaking up the natural wine scene in South America. After moving from Burgundy to Chile in the early 2000s, Luyt fell in love with the country’s ancient, dry-farmed vineyards and its humble, hardworking growers. He’s made it his mission to champion old-vine País and other native varieties, working with small farmers who still tend their vines by hand and plow with horses. At his core, Luyt is all about minimal intervention: native yeast fermentations, no additives, and a deep respect for tradition. His Pipeno wines, like the Blanco ‘Carrizal’ 2024, are a tribute to Chile’s rustic, communal wine heritage-unfiltered, vibrant, and brimming with personality. Each bottle is a snapshot of the Maule Valley’s wild energy and Luyt’s passion for honest, expressive winemaking that honors both the land and the people who care for it.
