A Natural Wine Love Story
Some stories begin with a spark. The story of Outward Wines starts with a harness, a rock wall, and a shared love for the wild.
When Ryan Pace, a winemaker raised among the vines, met Natalie Siddique, a world-class rock climber and trailblazing entrepreneur, it was clear their paths were meant to intertwine. That first meeting on the rock wall sparked a partnership built on adventure, intention and eventually... wine!
In 2016, the two launched Outward Wines, nestled in California’s Central Coast. Their mission: to craft small-batch, naturally made wines that channel the rugged, raw beauty of the region where cliffs tumble into vineyards and every bottle carries the energy of the land.
Naturally Made with a Sense of Place
Outward Wines is part of California’s growing movement toward honest, environmentally responsible winemaking. Ryan and Natalie work exclusively with organically farmed vineyards and rely on a minimalist approach in the cellar: native yeast fermentations, aging in neutral oak, and bottling without fining or filtration.
By producing only 2,500 cases per year, they stay intimately connected to each vineyard site and vintage - ensuring that every wine is a true expression of time and place.
This season, we’re especially excited about these three standouts:
Sauvignon Blanc Presqu’ile Vineyard, $45
A sun-chasing, sand-dune-dwelling showstopper. This Sancerre-level Sauvignon Blanc brings bright citrus—lime zest and grapefruit peel—with a tropical wink of passionfruit and gooseberry. It’s a wine that’s both playful and seriously structured.
Pair with: grilled vegetables, shellfish, or a classic chèvre tartine.
Sendero Luminoso, $28
Spanish for “Shining Path,” this wine is a tribute to one of Ryan and Natalie’s most epic climbs in El Potrero Chico, Mexico. A GSM-style blend with a twist—it features Vaccarèse, a rare Rhône variety found in only two North American vineyards.
Expect blackberries and violets, a savory thread of bacon fat, and a whisper of herbs de Provence.
Pair with: grilled meats, lentil stew, or mushroom risotto under the stars.
Valdiguié, $32
Meet your new summer red. Sometimes called “Napa Gamay,” Valdiguié is fresh, juicy, and made for chilling. Thanks to partial carbonic maceration, this wine bursts with vibrant red fruit, low tannins, and pure picnic-day energy.
Pair with: charcuterie boards, roast chicken, or your favorite shady spot in the park.
