The disco is alive and well! This is an easy-sipping juicy red from Australia that is meant to join you at the grill while you cook outside. It has brambly fruit and is bursting with ripe plum and fresh herbs. The makers of Jauma wines are also members of Natural Wine Theory, a group committed to sustainability in the vineyards and the cellar. They're teaching Aussies how to respect the land and what you put in the bottle.

Their Cred
Jauma produces handcrafted wines in South Australia. Owned and managed by Denise and James Erskine. The Erskines live and work in the Adelaide Hills with their children Danby and Audrey. James is an honors graduate in soil chemistry and a certified sommelier. Denise trained and worked as a nurse and now specializes in cranial sacral therapy. Their first vintage was in 2010. All of their wines are made without the addition of yeasts, acids, polymers, enzymes, tannins or filtration. All of the vineyard blocks are hand-harvested, farmed biodynamically, and bottled with minimal sulfites. Jauma is a founding member of the Natural Wine Theory, a revolutionary group formed a few years ago that has turned perceptions of Australian wine (and for that matter, New World wine) upside down. Committed to sustainable viticulture grounded in organic and biodynamic principles, Jauma and the rest of this motley crew are crafting wines with incredible vitality, sex appeal and dangerous drinkability. These wines reflect place, soul, funk, passion and dare we say it, a new zeitgeist!
