Partially carbonic, classically delicious. Beaujolais wines are known for their bright, almost candy-like flavor (from a process called carbonic maceration) and this one delivers in troves! Super light in tannins, cranberry-red in the glass, with a sour cherry candy nose. It’s like a dry punch that you’ll want to sip, drink, and enjoy all night long.
This pairs well with the whole Thanksgiving table – light tannins are great for turkey, big tart berry fruit works with cranberry sauce, dry earthy finish goes well with stuffing and mashed potatoes. As with other chilled reds, this wine is beautifully paired with a cheese and charcuterie plate and will stand up to spicy or tart pickled flavors.
Domaine Dubost is a fourth generation estate helmed by Jean-Paul Dubost since the mid-nineties. He has been transitioning to biodynamics since 2005 and ferments all of the wines with natural yeasts. The wines are made without sulfur or other additions. Jean-Paul is currently training his two young sons, Jeoffrey and Corentin, about natural wine, hoping that one day they take over the family estate.
