This collaboration between Long Meadow Ranch (the acclaimed farmstead restaurant and winery in Napa Valley) and female winemaker, Lisanne Leask, is a foodie dream. This team has come together to make a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley that’s delicious and food-friendly. This wine is like crushed black cherry with a touch of mocha and nutmeg. It’s layered and textured with just a hint of vanilla – a huge finish that will wow any Cab fan.
We love this wine with simple, hearty dinners – oven-baked meatballs, sausages off the grill, steak (delicious with chimichurri sauce if you’re up for it), burgers, and grilled or sauteed mushrooms. This is a fruit-forward Cab with tons of character, so it will hold up to a variety of cheeses as well – alpine cheeses like Gruyere, soft-ripened cheeses like Brie, or even some more pungent like a nice creamy blue.
This wine is a project from Long Meadow Ranch in Napa Valley and female winemaker Lisanne Leask – with grapes from the Hall family (who have been farming in Napa Valley since 1989). Lisanne studied Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis and cut her teeth at Rutherford Hill in Napa. The Hall Family, in addition to growing organic grapes, raises a herd of grass-fed highland beef cattle, produces estate-grown extra virgin olive oil and farms acres upon acres of organic fruits and vegetables throughout Northern California. Together this team has a passion for food-friendly wines made in harmony with the landscape around them.
