Chateau Haut Bessac Bordeaux White

Historically fresh Sauvignon Blanc

If you are on a bit of a Sauvignon Blanc journey, this is your next stop. Unlike a Sancerre (from Loire Valley, France), this Sauvignon Blanc is from the other famous French region for this kind of wine – Bordeaux. If you didn’t know before, all white wines from Bordeaux are Sauvignon Blanc generally blended with Sémillon and/or Muscadelle. What makes a white Bordeaux so unique is its distinctly earthy note, with more citrus and florals than grassiness. This is a fabulous lighter style Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux, region where the grape varietal originated. It’s actually older than Cabernet Sauvignon!

Delicious With

This wine is great with garlic, citrus (especially the winter citrus in season right now - grapefruit, tangelos, satsuma mandarins, lemon), and surprisingly anything with avocado (that’s a year-round fruit at least on the west coast, right?). If you’re craving a lighter meal after all the heavy holiday cooking, this is your wine. Perfect for fresh salads and great with a lighter fish dish drenched in your citrus of choice.

Their Cred

Chateau Haut Bessac has been in the Glotin family for three generations. They are known for making tasty, approachable, and democratically-priced wines that represent the traditional style of the region. This wine has increased in popularity over the last few years, due to the fresh, vibrant style, and unbelievable value.
