The format of this wine makes it feel as staple in your kitchen as olive oil. This is one full liter of citrusy, savory, white peppery goodness. Famous for its lemon, lime, grapefruit and distinct white pepper flavors, this wine is for when even a Sauvignon Blanc sounds too juicy.
Because of its distinctly powerful acidity and slight zip or herbaceous quality, a Grüner Veltliner is a wonderful match for something like a breaded cutlet or Japanese Tonkatsu. The acidity cuts through the richness of the fried crust and the savory pepper and herbs pair beautifully with chicken or pork.
Familie Bauer is a family run operation, run solely by the 5 Bauers. They sustainably farm 17 hectares in the Wagram district of Lower Austria (Niederösterreich), where they produce a variety of top shelf wines in addition to their every day liters!
From their main vineyards in lower Austria, the grapes are hand-harvested in early October, vineyard sorted, whole-cluster pressed followed by fermentation in stainless steel with ambient yeasts that last for two weeks and rest on lees until the end of November. Aged in stainless steel for three months.
