Very much a sparkling for Champagne lovers! From a boutique Sonoma winery, husband and wife, Eric and Ali Story, made this much anticipated second release of their NorCal bubbles. Like fresh nectarines and a bit of white peach wrapped in chamomile flowers, and dipped in lemon cream. A little hazelnut-y and lightly honeyed with a gorgeous creamy mouthfeel. Stay local with this one and enjoy the true beauty of a serious California bubbly.

Terrific with shellfish like crab or shrimp. Or go classic - a Sonoma cheese platter with triple crème brie, grapes, and Marcona almonds. Beautiful with fennel – fresh sliced in salad, braised with salmon, or seasoned in charcuterie, like a fennel-laden Finocchiona salami.
Founder, Christine, met Ali in the wine business in Austin, TX in the early 2000s. At the time, Ali had started one of the first female-founded wine brokerage companies in the business. She specialized in wines from all over the world: France, Argentina, California, and sake from Japan (which started Christine’s obsession with sake, but that’s a different story). Ali met her now husband, Eric, then the buyer for K & L Wines, and a Bay-area authority in wine retail. In 2014 they launched a Kickstarter for their winery and were fully funded in 30 days. Later that year, along with their dear Goldendoodle, Lord Sandwich, Ali founded a non-profit Socks For Sandwich, which donates new socks to those in need. Smith Story Wines are made with respect for the land, kindness for the grower and, love from the winemaker. Each vineyard they work with is family-owned. Their wines are classic, showcasing what these grapes can taste like if well-crafted. Also, Ali and Eric do everything, literally everything, themselves from winemaking to running the tasting room, wine club, and sales. True triple threats and really good people.
