Rocco di Carpeneto | 'LOSNA' Dolcetto

A winter red to chew on

When it’s a bit cooler outside, we tend to crave something warming in the glass. This big, scrumptious, mouth-filling red made with organic Dolcetto grapes, is just the winter coat we need. Giant roasted plum, stewed black currants, and dried forest flowers will give you a wine to chew on.  Made by a charming and wildly dedicated husband and wife team, the couple transitioned a property of long forgotten vineyards from the 50s, to a fully natural operation, preserving the freshness and distinct character of each grape varietal.

Their Cred

Rocco di Carpeneto is a radical, organic winery located on a small plateau amidst the Upper Monferrato hills, i.e. the closest to Mediterranean sea part of Piedmont. Wine production is strictly devoted to Piedmont-native grapes (cortese, barbera, dolcetto, freisa, albarossa, nebbiolo) grown in old vineyards — mostly planted between 1955 and 1986.
