Sancerre has a pedigree – known as being one of, if not THE, best Sauvignon Blanc on the planet. We believe the true title is up for debate, but alas, this wine is undeniable good! This particular Sancerre, is grown in Calcaire, or chalky soils, where the water retention is higher, and the fruit becomes more plush, soft, and rich, versus some of the more austere and acidic styles. There is a beautiful ripeness to this wine - a slight D’Anjou pear and tree-ripened, late harvest citrus flavor with fresh wet stone.

Delicious With

Roast chicken or turkey, salmon, trout, and cheese-y golden potatoes (like au gratin). Beautiful with tangy cheese like fresh chevre or feta. Pairs well with garlic, thyme, basil, parsley, and tons of lemon.

Their Cred

The Fouassier family is one of the oldest wine growing families in the Loire Valley… and they don’t take their history for granted in the slightest. With their 10th generation now managing the estate, Benoît and Paul proudly continue their family tradition of organic farming and biodynamic principles; minimal intervention is their key to great wine. Working with a variety of soil types throughout Sancerre, from chalky limestone to flinty clay, they expertly grow and vinify their grapes carefully to express the unique mineral composition of each plot.
