A charismatic wine with a rich history! Both savory and fruity like smoky pineapple sprinkled with sea salt. The story of Jurançon wine, begins with King Henry II, who bought a vineyard in Jurancon in 1552. The hillsides at that time where already covered with the native grape varieties - Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng. He is said to have baptized the newborn future king of France with Jurançon wine. And thanks to King Henri IV, this became the wine used in ceremonies of the house of France.

Delicious With

Delicious with a wide range of foods from rich birds like turkey and duck, to fish like trout and salmon. Also pairs well with dishes with cream, dill, or warm baking spices like nutmeg.

Their Cred

Domaine Castera is a 25 acre estate run by Christian and Franck Lihour in Jurançon, the fifth generation of their family to farm their vines. Here the Lihour family grows the local varietals Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, and Petit Courbu. Christian and Franck aim to work with nature, not forcing anything on the vines. They make "farmers" wines: unpretentious, delicious, and above all, fun.
