Baby Bordeaux Blanc
This little French gem is like a baby Bordeaux Blanc – meaning it’s a classic blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon (with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon!). But this one is from a region a bit farther east of Bordeaux. It has body and a zip – the best of both worlds. It’s partially macerated (the wine sits on the grape skins for a bit to give some grip and a boost of flavor), but doesn’t drink like an orange – it just gives some plump. Its name references a Macedonian rite of passage: the courageous decision to leave home to find one's fortune.
