Candialle | Chianti Classico

A truly incredible Chianti

Everything about this wine is fabulous! Made from mostly Sangiovese grapes, this wine is made by Jarkko and Josephin Peranen, a husband-and-wife team who farm their vines organically in the heart of the Chianti Classico region. The wine is fermented and aged in large ceramic eggs designed by the producers themselves. This wine has big bright fruit and kind of dusty texture and mouthfeel, while still tasting beautiful and clean. Tons of fruit cake spice, rose petal and blood orange.

Delicious With

This is a pizza, pasta, Chicken Parm kind of wine. But honestly it’s made to go with food and the soft tannins will enhance just about anything on the plate.

Their Cred

This wine comes from a high density vineyard where vines are grown in the Albarello (or bush vine) training system. Husband-and-wife team, Jarkko and Josephin Peranen farm their 100 acres (less than 30 are planted to grapes) organically in the Conca d'Oro (golden bowl) - the heart of Chianti Classico in Tuscany. The Peranens are dedicated to slow and natural viticulture and vineyard management with every aspect of their winery. They are part of a group of likeminded winemakers who are working to have their village of Panzano become the first viticultural region of Italy to be completely organic. From grape to glass there is meaningful ecological stewardship and minimal intervention.
