In the glass, it’s a swirl of ripe strawberries, juicy cherries, and a hint of rose petals, with a playful touch of white pepper and a whisper of Mediterranean herbs. Light on its feet and refreshingly low in tannin, this Cinsault is even nice with a little chill and serving alongside everything from grilled veggies to a platter of charcuterie. Try it with grilled lamb skewers or a classic Niçoise salad. Great with charcuterie and soft cheeses, or alongside roasted chicken with herbs. For lighter fare, ratatouille or a fresh tomato and burrata salad. For a casual match, Margherita pizza or crispy falafel.

Lynn Wheeler, originally from Pueblo, CO, spent summers in the Texas Panhandle before studying a little of everything at CU Boulder, eventually dropping out. She later earned a degree in Botany from UC Davis, where she and Kenny Likitprakong managed the student organic farm and vineyard. After cataloging plants in Rocky Mountain National Park, Lynn moved to Santa Cruz, working at Eco-Farm while Kenny made wine at Hallcrest. In 2001, they launched Hobo Wine Co., building a life of travel, kids, and hard work - from selling wine with toddlers in tow to cleaning tanks and filing forms. Now, Lynn has her own label, Edith and Ida, a tribute to patience and organically farmed, old-vine California fruit.
